*NEW* Beginners Rug-Hooking Course

Tuesdays July 7th - August 11th, 10am - 12pm

Instructor: Len de Graaf

$180/person + material fee ($20)

Start your rug-hooking journey here! Len de Graaf, Vice-President of the Ontario Hooking Craft Guild, will teach you the fundamental skills to create a hooked rug from start to finish in this six-week course. Len will provide patterns, material, and yarn. 

Registration coming in April 2020! There is a deposit for your loaner hoop ($20) which be returned at the end of the course. Material fee, payable to Len, covers yarn, rug material.

Needle Felting

June 6th, 10am - 3pm

Instructor: Len de Graaf

$30/person + material fee ($30)

Learn how to needle felt during the first of our 2020 fibre workshops. Participants will needle felt a flat 2D landscape on a 6"x8" piece of felted wool, and then try to felt a 3D animal. Perfect for beginners or experienced fibre artists. Bring your own scissors. All other supplies are included.

Yarn Painting

July 18th, 10am - 4pm

Instructor: Len de Graaf

$35/person + materials fee ($20)

Try a new way of making art with two simple materials - yarn and a beeswax board! Each participant will get a 5”x7” art board that has been coated with 6 layers of melted beeswax. Then pieces of yarn are chosen to “yarn paint” a beautiful picture by pressing the yarn into the beeswax with a knitting needle.

You can bring in a picture of a landscape for reference or you can do an abstract. You will create a beautiful art piece and no art experience is required!

Branch Weaving

August 22, 10am - 4pm

Instructor: Len de Graaf

 $35/person + material fee ($20)

Create your own woven tapestry on a tree branch 'loom', using natural materials, yarns, beads, and other found objects. Various textured yarns will be used to weave a unique piece of art work. When it is finished it ready to be hung on the wall. No experience in weaving or art is necessary! Bring your own scissors. All other supplies included.
