The Archive holds a vast collection of items relating to the history of Uxbridge. These include, but are not limited to:
Historical building information
Newspapers - 1862-1984 available on Microfilm (North Ontario Times; Uxbridge Journal; Uxbridge Times-Journal)
Land records and assessments
Census, tax rolls, and municipal government related documents
Diaries and log books
Local history regarding businesses, events, community groups, and prominent people are easily available via research inquiries.
Please fill out the Research Request Form and email it to us ahead of your visit. This will allow the staff to search the archival and museum databases, finding aids, and research materials in order to locate the information relating to your inquiry.
Staff will bring the requested item(s) to the Research Room for your viewing. The Research Room includes a non-circulating reference collection of books relating to Ontario history, agriculture, biographies, and specialized subjects relating to Uxbridge’s history.
