Pieced Together: Quilts on Quaker Hill

May 23 - 31, 2020 **Postponed**

General Admission applies

From Saturday May 23rd to Sunday May 31st, the UHC is hosting Pieced Together: Quilts on Quaker Hill, featuring quilts from the museum’s collection, contemporary art quilts and traditional quilt designs. We are looking for quilts from the Uxbridge community to include in this special exhibition. There will be activities for all ages, including kids’ crafts and a community quilt project.

Please contact the museum if you have a quilt, perhaps made by a family member and handed down through the generations that you would be willing to loan to the museum during the month of May 2020. Please note that we have limited space for quilt display, and are looking for variety of styles and designs, from primitive to more traditional.

March for the Crown:

200 Years of Ontario's Orange Parade

July 3 - 26, 2020

General Admission applies

Next year, it will be the 200th anniversary of Toronto's Orange Order parade, and the UHC is designing an exhibition to coincide with this event.

March for the Crown will focus on local experiences with the Orange Order of Canada. In order to share those experiences, we need to hear them from the people of Uxbridge and Uxbridge Township.

If you have a memory to share about the Orange Lodges of Uxbridge and Scott Townships (Goodwood, Zephyr, Udora, or Victoria's Corners), Orange parades within the Township, or an experience you or an ancestor has had with the Orange Order of Canada, please get in touch with Amanda by email.

And yes, we encourage you to share the unfavorable moments along with the good experiences!  Please no phone calls as we are unable to return them during the winter months. We would like to wrap up our oral history collecting project for this exhibit by May, so please get in touch with us early.
